Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission has portable recycling equipment available for collecting plastic bottles, deposit containers, and paper at your next public or private event.
Recycling Equipment Available
Portable Recycle Clear™ Recycling Frames and Carts can be checked out free of charge in the following quantities (subject to availability) on a first come, first served basis (based on the date the refundable deposit is received). These frames provide the opportunity for recycling bottles, cans, and paper during your indoor or outdoor event (when paired with your regular garbage containers).
50 Blue Recycling Frames with Blue Lids (and Blue Bags)
These frames are labeled “PLASTIC BOTTLES ONLY” to collect water bottles and sports drink bottles.
50 Green Recycling Frames with Green Lids (and Clear Bags)
These frames are labeled “5¢ DEPOSIT CANS & BOTTLES ONLY” to collect items such as soda/beer cans and soda/beer plastic bottles. (No Glass 5¢ Deposit Containers)
5 Green Recycling Frames with Green Lids (and Green Bags)
These frames are labeled “PAPER ONLY” to collect office paper during indoor festivals and workshops.
2 Carts for holding and moving the Recycling Frames
Each cart can hold ten recycling frames and ten lids with the tote full of supplies.
Colored and Clear Bags
Color coordinated bags will be provided for use during your event to help volunteers easily keep track of the different materials collected.
12 Awareness Signs
These informational signs can clip on any style of recycling frame. Let participants know you are providing recycling during your event. Place signs in prominent areas or near the event entrance/exit.
Cleaning Supply Totes and Forms
When checking out recycling frames, you will also receive a tote that contains the event report forms, a clipboard, pens, and cleaning supplies. You will turn in unused bags and supplies during your scheduled return appointment.
