The Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission will be partnering with the City of Waterloo to sponsor the Spring Electronics Recycling and Household Hazardous Materials Disposal Drop-off. This event is open to Black Hawk County residents to recycle old electric and electronic devices (*certain fees apply), as well as dispose of toxic substances from their homes and garages. Waste from businesses, churches, schools, and non-profits cannot be accepted.

**Typically 700-1,000 residents participate in this 5-hour event each spring. Therefore, some items are NOT ACCEPTED including: medications, personal care items, paint, motor oil, antifreeze, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, appliances (air conditioners, washers, dryers, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves dehumidifiers, etc), ammunition, alkaline batteries (single use AAA, AA, 9-volt, etc), any container larger than 5 gallons (no drums), asbestos, radioactive materials, tires, business waste of any type, or non-hazardous waste (please use your weekly garbage service).
